1. JOHN CURE, born in New York 1769, died. in Bradford Co. Pa., 1837.  was married in Binghampton, Broone Co., New York in 1804 to Elizabeth (Betsy) Jones, b. 1788 who was born in New York, died in Luzern Co., Pa. 1870. John is the only child of William Cure. NOTE: It appears John lived 68 years.  John it appears was buried in  Park Cemetery, Canton Borough, Bradford County, Pennsylvania along with his youngest child Emily (Cure) Stone and Emily's husband.  The date on the marker list him dieing May 24 1842 at the age of 68. Information on the Latter Day Saint's web site agrees with the dates I have listed for John.

This is my Grandfather, GG Grandfather and GG Grandmother CureELIAS TOM CURE and SOPHRONIA TENNESSEE WARE - My G Grandparents on Mother's side
Elias Tom Cure was born November 9, 1827 in Pennsylvania and died May 29, 1905. Elias and friends, on horseback, left for California to join the Gold Rush.  Many had to walk and some pushed wheel barrows.  Elias  met William Rankin Ware in California. (William Rankin Ware was Sophronia's Father)  William and Elias  became partners using pack mules and carried supplies out to sell the miners. Prices were high and sometimes a box of salt brought $5.00. Elias and William returned to Texas together. They traveled by boat to Panama, used camels to reach the Gulf of Mexico and on to the Brazos. Elias married Sophronia Tennessee Ware May 27, 1854.  Sophronia Tennessee Ware was born April 9, 1839 in Brenham, Texas and died December 18, 1914 near Nixon, Texas. Elias and Sophronia are buried in Ware Cemetery near Pandora, Texas.  See 1850 Census for Luzerne Co. Pa.

 To all relatives and friends who are bowed in sorrow for the death of our dear brother E. T. Cure. Age 79 years:  Resolution means to us this day, separation.  It is not in this as in the solving of some difficult problems that separation is the only means by which is found the true value of the unknown quality.  The quality, the true man is not unknown by any who knew our deceased Bro. Cure.
 May 26th, 1906, the date of the death of this beloved and reverend man, was not an occasion to make us for the first time realized his worth.  He has for these many years been the greatest worker, the leader and the life of all efforts for good in this community.  Such a character as this could have but considered well and carefully the problem ???????????
