Jordan was a member of the Brushy Mountain Baptist Association of Wilkes County, NC.1

1835- Jordan was ordained as a Primitive Baptist Elder by the New Hope Baptist Church of Wilkes County.

1839-1840- He was Pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church .1

Jordan moved to Ashe County and was briefly a member of the Senter Baptist Chruch (Nathan's Creek) prior to moving on to Kentucky. 2
1845, November 30- Jordan's son William married in Ashe County.
1847, February 6- Jordon's son Franklin
married in Ashe County.

1847- he moved to Jenkins, Kentucky, living in tents the first summer.
1847 -1854 Jordan was a moderator of all the Baptist Churches in several eastern Kentucky Counties.3

He moved to Carr's Fork in Present Knott County, KY.
1848- Jordan's daughter Nancy married in Letcher County.
By 1849-
Jordan owned 250 acres in the Carr's Fork, Irishman area.
1850-
Jordan's daughter Mary married in Letcer County.

1851, Novermber- Jordan transfers 100 acres of Letcher County land on Irishman to son Franklin.
1852- Jordan's daughter Martha married.
1854 He wrote the Circular Letter for the New Salem Association
                       
Circular Letter on the Subject of Love.

1856, March 20- Jordan's son Jesse married in Perry County.

By 1860- Jordan owned more than 400 acres in the Carr's Fork, Irishman area.

Jordan moved to Campton, Wolfe Co. KY, where he died in 1864.
He is said to be buried at "Swift Creek Cemetery", Wolfe Co.
3  Neither this cemetery nor his grave has been found.

In her later years in Campton, KY, Barbara worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Archelous Congleton.
